The Hindu · india
The Madras High Court observed that the nature of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's election case has significantly changed. Justice V. Lakshminarayanan questioned how discrepancies in assets exceeding ₹600 crore would constitute undue influence or corrupt electoral practice. The judge noted that if assets were declared via a chartered accountant, mistakes by the auditor shouldn't invalidate the election. The court also examined the challenge to the nomination form's acceptance, considering the Returning Officer's limited verification scope.
