Haryana Forest Dept Seizes Timber After 100km Tractor Chase

Haryana forest officials intercepted a tractor-trolley carrying illegally felled sheesham trees after a nearly 100km chase from Pataudi to Hansi. Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident. The operation began following a tip-off about tree felling in the Pataudi area. The seized timber included cut tree trunks and logs of varying sizes. This seizure occurs as Haryana considers a new law to regulate tree felling, proposing penalties and mandatory sapling plantation for authorised felling.

हरियाणा के वन अधिकारियों ने पटौदी से हांसी तक लगभग 100 किलोमीटर पीछा करने के बाद अवैध रूप से काटे गए शीशम के पेड़ों से लदी एक ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉली को रोका। इस घटना के संबंध में दो लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। यह अभियान पटौदी क्षेत्र में पेड़ कटाई की सूचना मिलने के बाद शुरू हुआ। जब्त की गई लकड़ी में विभिन्न आकारों के कटे हुए पेड़ के तने और लट्ठे शामिल थे। यह जब्ती ऐसे समय में हुई है जब हरियाणा पेड़ कटाई को नियंत्रित करने के लिए एक नया कानून बनाने पर विचार कर रहा है, जिसमें अधिकृत कटाई के लिए दंड और अनिवार्य पौधा रोपण का प्रस्ताव है।
