Gandhi Chose Not To Hold Any Government Post After India's Independence

TV9 Hindi · india

Despite playing a pivotal role in India's freedom struggle, Mahatma Gandhi did not accept any government position after the country gained independence in 1947. He was neither the Prime Minister, President, nor a minister, and did not even have a seat in the new parliament. While many credit him for ending British rule, Gandhi focused on village upliftment, sanitation, and combating discrimination. His influence stemmed from his conduct and freedom of speech, inspiring people to act voluntarily rather than through official power.
