Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly's 'Group of Friends on Safety and Security of Shipping and Seafarers', he highlighted these incidents as a growing cause for concern. India, alongside Liberia, has initiated efforts to draw global attention to the vital issue of maritime safety and security.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने खाड़ी, लाल सागर और काला सागर जैसे महत्वपूर्ण समुद्री इलाकों में वाणिज्यिक जहाजों और नाविकों पर बार-बार हो रहे हमलों की कड़ी निंदा की है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा की 'शिपिंग और नाविकों की सुरक्षा और संरक्षा पर मित्र देशों के समूह' की बैठक में उन्होंने इन घटनाओं को चिंता का बढ़ता कारण बताया। भारत ने लाइबेरिया के साथ मिलकर समुद्री सुरक्षा के महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दे पर वैश्विक ध्यान आकर्षित करने के प्रयास शुरू किए हैं।
