Arunachal CM Calls Adi Groups For Siang Dam Talks Amid Boycott

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has invited two prominent Adi organisations to discuss concerns over the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP). However, the Siang Indigenous Farmers’ Forum Youth Wing (SIFFYW) has announced a complete boycott of government talks on the project. SIFFYW demands the withdrawal of security forces, FIRs, and the release of arrested community members, along with compensation. The state government maintains the project is only for viability assessment, while opponents fear displacement and environmental damage.
