India Discovers New Gas Reserve In Krishna-Godavari Basin

Oil India Limited has discovered a new natural gas reserve in the shallow waters of the Krishna-Godavari Basin, located off India's eastern coast. Initial tests from the 'Godavari-1' well indicate a maximum flow rate of 200,000 Standard Cubic Meters per Day (SCMD) and condensate production of approximately 170 barrels per day. This discovery could potentially meet the monthly gas needs of around 20,000 families. The find supports the government's goal to increase domestic gas production to 15% of total consumption by 2030, reducing import dependency.

ऑयल इंडिया लिमिटेड ने भारत के पूर्वी तट पर स्थित कृष्णा-गोदावरी बेसिन के उथले पानी में एक नया प्राकृतिक गैस भंडार खोजा है। 'गोदावरी-1' कुएं से शुरुआती परीक्षणों में प्रति दिन 200,000 स्टैंडर्ड क्यूबिक मीटर (SCMD) की अधिकतम प्रवाह दर और लगभग 170 बैरल प्रति दिन कंडेनसेट उत्पादन का संकेत मिला है। इस खोज से संभावित रूप से लगभग 20,000 परिवारों की मासिक गैस की जरूरतें पूरी हो सकती हैं। यह खोज सरकार के 2030 तक कुल खपत में घरेलू गैस उत्पादन को 15% तक बढ़ाने और आयात पर निर्भरता कम करने के लक्ष्य का समर्थन करती है।
