The Allahabad high court has summoned the Additional Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh's medical education department to explain the implementation of Scheduled Caste (SC) reservation in MBBS counselling for the 2026-27 academic session. The court sought a personal appearance on Tuesday to clarify compliance with its previous order and the state government's assurance. A Public Interest Litigation alleged the state restricted SC reservation implementation to only four government medical colleges, instead of all colleges. The dispute involves SC reservation in Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Jalaun, and Saharanpur medical colleges.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मेडिकल एजुकेशन विभाग के एडिशनल चीफ सेक्रेटरी को तलब किया है ताकि 2026-27 शैक्षणिक सत्र के लिए MBBS काउंसलिंग में Scheduled Caste (SC) आरक्षण के लागू होने के बारे में समझाया जा सके। कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को व्यक्तिगत पेशी मांगी है ताकि पिछले आदेश के अनुपालन और राज्य सरकार के आश्वासन को स्पष्ट किया जा सके। एक Public Interest Litigation में आरोप लगाया गया है कि राज्य ने सभी कॉलेजों के बजाय केवल चार सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेजों तक SC आरक्षण के लागू होने को सीमित कर दिया है। इस विवाद में Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Jalaun, और Saharanpur मेडिकल कॉलेजों में SC आरक्षण शामिल है।
