The Indian economy achieved a growth of 7.8% in the first quarter of 2026-27, according to the Reserve Bank of India's latest bulletin. This growth was primarily fueled by strong domestic consumption and investment, evident in robust vehicle sales and personal loan expansion. Fixed investment also saw significant growth, supported by increased government capital expenditure and demand for capital goods. Both rural and urban consumer demand remained firm in August, indicated by strong sales in two-wheelers and passenger vehicles.
