Woman Jumps To Save Friend, Both Die

Two 24-year-old Indian-origin friends, Malaika Chitre and Navam Kaul, were fatally struck by a subway train in New York City. The incident occurred at the Spring Street station around 3:15 AM on Sunday. Investigators believe Chitre may have jumped onto the tracks to rescue Kaul after he fell, but both were hit by the approaching train. The train operator attempted to stop the train, but it was too late.

न्यूयॉर्क शहर में एक दुखद घटना हुई। 24 साल की दो भारतीय मूल की दोस्त, मलाईका चित्रे और नवम कौल, सबवे ट्रेन की चपेट में आकर जान गंवा बैठीं। यह हादसा रविवार तड़के करीब 3:15 बजे स्प्रिंग स्ट्रीट स्टेशन पर हुआ। माना जा रहा है कि नवम के पटरी पर गिरने के बाद मलाईका उसे बचाने कूदीं, लेकिन दोनों ट्रेन की चपेट में आ गईं। ट्रेन ड्राइवर ने रोकने की कोशिश की, पर तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी थी।
