Supreme Court Transfers Corruption Case Trial Against Retired Judge To Delhi

The Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of a disproportionate assets case against former Allahabad High Court judge Shri Narayan Shukla from Lucknow to a Delhi court. The trial will now be heard alongside a pending corruption case against him in the capital. Shukla, who retired in July 2020, is accused of taking a bribe to favour a medical college. The CBI filed a charge sheet in the corruption case, and a separate case in 2023 alleged disproportionate assets worth over ₹2.5 crore.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पूर्व इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के जज श्री नारायण शुक्ला के खिलाफ आय से ज़्यादा संपत्ति के मामले को लखनऊ से दिल्ली की अदालत में ट्रांसफर करने का आदेश दिया है। अब इस मामले की सुनवाई राजधानी में उनके खिलाफ लंबित भ्रष्टाचार के मामले के साथ की जाएगी। जुलाई 2020 में रिटायर हुए शुक्ला पर एक मेडिकल कॉलेज को फायदा पहुंचाने के लिए रिश्वत लेने का आरोप है। सीबीआई ने भ्रष्टाचार के मामले में चार्जशीट दाखिल की थी, और 2023 में एक अलग मामले में ₹2.5 करोड़ से ज़्यादा की आय से ज़्यादा संपत्ति का आरोप लगाया गया था।
