Kedartal Avalanche: 2 Lucknow Sisters Among 4 Dead, Search Continues for 4 Missing

Two sisters from Lucknow, Deepika Verma (29) and Vartika Verma (28), are among four trekkers confirmed dead following an avalanche on the Kedartal trekking route in Uttarkashi. Rescue teams recovered two more bodies on Wednesday, bringing the total to four, while continuing the search for four other missing individuals. The deceased were found buried under avalanche debris at an altitude of around 4,000 metres. Deep snow and difficult terrain are hampering rescue efforts, with operations suspended daily due to limited daylight.

लखनऊ की दो बहनें, दीपिका वर्मा (29) और वर्तिका वर्मा (28), उत्तरकाशी में केदारताल ट्रेकिंग रूट पर हिमस्खलन के बाद मृत घोषित चार ट्रेकर्स में शामिल हैं। बचाव दलों ने बुधवार को दो और शव बरामद किए, जिससे कुल संख्या चार हो गई, जबकि चार अन्य लापता लोगों की तलाश जारी है। मृतकों को लगभग 4,000 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर हिमस्खलन के मलबे के नीचे दबा हुआ पाया गया था। भारी बर्फबारी और मुश्किल इलाका बचाव प्रयासों में बाधा डाल रहा है, और दिन की रोशनी कम होने के कारण हर दिन बचाव कार्य निलंबित कर दिए जाते हैं।
