Many effigies, some nearly complete, have been ruined by the unexpected downpour, causing significant distress to artisans. Craftsmen are now working tirelessly to repair the damaged figures, which requires them to dry, re-paper, and re-decorate. This recurring issue of monsoon rains impacting their livelihood has led artisans to demand insurance for the effigies from the government.
