Sharath Kamal, Nikhat Zareen Out of IOA Athletes' Commission Elections

Times of India · sports

The Indian Olympic Association's Athletes' Commission is undergoing a significant change with prominent athletes like Sharath Kamal and Nikhat Zareen missing from the electoral list for the upcoming elections. Sharath Kamal's nomination was rejected due to a technical issue with his unsigned application, while Nikhat Zareen and Narendra Berwal were excluded as the IOA does not recognize the Boxing Federation of India. Mary Kom's tenure as chairperson also ends, with neither outgoing office-bearer contesting.
