Times of India · good-news

Gig workers in Chennai's Perambur constituency will soon have a 24/7 air-conditioned lounge for rest between deliveries. This facility, part of four development projects worth ₹1.45 crore, will offer drinking water, toilets, and charging points. A recent study revealed that a significant percentage of gig workers in Tamil Nadu lack access to clean toilets and drinking water during their long working hours. The lounge aims to address these critical health and dignity concerns for the predominantly young workforce.
