BHU Workshop Focuses on Liquid Biopsy for Cancer Testing

A two-day national workshop on liquid biopsy techniques for cancer diagnostics concluded at Banaras Hindu University's Institute of Medical Sciences. Organized by the DIAMOnDS Centre with ICMR support, it provided hands-on training in cfDNA/cfRNA extraction and ddPCR data interpretation. The event highlighted advancements in minimally invasive cancer detection using bodily fluids, complementing traditional solid biopsies. BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi noted the technology's use in clinical settings and research at IMS-BHU, with around 50 delegates participating.

बनारस हिंदू यूनिवर्सिटी के इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज में कैंसर की जांच के लिए लिक्विड बायोप्सी तकनीकों पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय कार्यशाला संपन्न हुई। आईसीएमआर के सहयोग से डायमंड्स सेंटर द्वारा आयोजित इस कार्यशाला में सीएफडीएनए/सीएफआरएनए निष्कर्षण और डीडीपीसीआर डेटा व्याख्या में हैंड्स-ऑन प्रशिक्षण दिया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में शरीर के तरल पदार्थों का उपयोग करके कैंसर का पता लगाने में हुई प्रगति पर प्रकाश डाला गया, जो पारंपरिक सॉलिड बायोप्सी का पूरक है। बीएचयू के कुलपति प्रो. अजीत कुमार चतुर्वेदी ने आईएमएस-बीएचयू में नैदानिक ​​सेटिंग्स और अनुसंधान में इस तकनीक के उपयोग पर प्रकाश डाला, जिसमें लगभग 50 प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया।
