Election Commission Eases Hearing Norms For Voters

The Election Commission of India has announced that individuals issued notices during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls will generally not need to appear personally for hearings. Booth Level Officers will visit homes to collect documents for those with unmapped or discrepant information, with decisions then made by Electoral Registration Officers. Hearings will be reserved for exceptional cases, preferably conducted online, or attended by an authorised family member. Help desks will also be set up for vulnerable groups.

भारत के चुनाव आयोग ने बताया है कि इलेक्टोरल रोल के स्पेशल रिवीजन के दौरान नोटिस पाए लोगों को अब सुनवाई के लिए खुद जाने की ज़रूरत नहीं होगी। बूथ लेवल ऑफिसर घर जाकर ज़रूरी कागज़ात लेंगे, खासकर जिनकी जानकारी ठीक नहीं है। फिर इलेक्टोरल रजिस्ट्रेशन ऑफिसर फैसला करेंगे। खास मामलों में ही सुनवाई होगी, वो भी ऑनलाइन या किसी परिवार वाले की मौजूदगी में। कमज़ोर लोगों के लिए हेल्प डेस्क भी बनाए जाएंगे।
