Jyoti's Family Kept Out of Probe, Denied Report on Her Death

The family of Jyoti, a Panjab University PhD scholar who died in an electrical safety incident on July 28, has alleged they were not meaningfully included in the magisterial enquiry into her death. They claim they received late notices, could not attend hearings due to distance, and their virtual meeting request was unsuccessful. The family has not received a copy of the completed report, despite it being submitted to the Chandigarh deputy commissioner around. The enquiry reportedly found electrical safety deficiencies and recommended departmental action.
