National Medical Commission Scraps Medical Education Standards Regulations With Immediate Effect

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has withdrawn the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023, with immediate effect. These regulations, notified on September 19, 2023, have been de-notified through a notification in the Gazette of India. However, the requirement for medical institutions to submit annual disclosure reports remains unchanged. The NMC stated that actions taken and decisions made under the 2023 regulations before their withdrawal will not be affected.
