The Karnataka State Police Complaints Authority has urged the Director-General and Inspector-General of Police to enforce a state-wide crackdown on the illegal sale, storage, and use of banned Chinese manja. This call follows a recent fatality in Hubballi where a woman died from injuries sustained from a manja string. The authority seeks special enforcement drives, raids on shops, and action against online sellers and users. A public awareness campaign is also proposed to educate citizens about the dangers and legal repercussions of using synthetic kite strings.
