Delhi Air Quality Remains Poor, Unlikely to Improve Soon

New Delhi's air quality remained in the 'poor' category for the second consecutive day on Thursday, with an AQI of 223. The AQI was slightly higher at 245 the previous day and is expected to stay in the poor range for the next six days. Stubble burning contributed an estimated 7.4% to Delhi's PM2.5 levels. Experts warn that calm, cooler winds trapping pollution and carrying smoke from stubble burning, alongside industrial and transport emissions, could worsen the situation in the coming weeks without strict pollution control measures.
