Congress Claims Many Western UP Seats; SP Offers 12-14

Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party and Congress are in seat-sharing talks. Congress has presented a list of 172 assembly seats, categorizing them into four groups, with a strong preference for 75 'A category' seats, particularly in Western Uttar Pradesh. These seats are noted for significant Muslim and Dalit voter populations. While Congress claims seats in Saharanpur, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnor, Meerut, Amroha, and Sambhal, the SP is reportedly willing to offer only 12 to 14 seats in Western UP.
