Crypto exchange Binance has reported a massive cyberattack resulting in the theft of approximately $6.3 billion in assets. The majority of the funds were moved within a 20-minute window on October 29, 2026, across multiple blockchain networks. Binance temporarily suspended operations and stated it would cover losses using its emergency fund. While around $3 billion was frozen, Binance has since restored 95% of the stolen assets, primarily from its own funds.
