Delegation To Visit Police Station Over Jantar Mantar

A six-member delegation including activists and politicians will visit the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi on Monday. The delegation questioned why the right to protest was being restricted, linking it to concerns over voting rights. Heavy barricading was observed at Jantar Mantar on September 25 amid protests demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.

सोमवार को एक्टिविस्टों और नेताओं समेत छह लोगों का एक दल दिल्ली के पार्लियामेंट स्ट्रीट पुलिस स्टेशन जाएगा। वे जंतर मंतर पर विरोध प्रदर्शनों पर लगाई गई पाबंदियों और इन रोक-टोक के कानूनी आधार के बारे में स्पष्टीकरण मांग रहे हैं। दल ने सवाल उठाया कि वोटिंग अधिकारों को लेकर चिंताओं से जोड़ते हुए विरोध करने के अधिकार को क्यों प्रतिबंधित किया जा रहा है। 25 सितंबर को चीफ इलेक्शन कमिश्नर के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे प्रदर्शनकारियों के बीच जंतर मंतर पर भारी बैरिकेडिंग देखी गई थी।
