For the second time in less than a week, a US appeals court has rejected a bid by the Trump administration to set aside 20,000 ballots in California. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the request would violate the US Constitution and risk disenfranchising eligible voters. The administration had claimed nearly 20,000 "likely non-citizens" received mail-in ballots for the November 3 midterm elections. However, the accuracy of the administration's list has been questioned, with officials noting that non-citizen voting is extremely rare.

9th Circuit Court of Appeals
