Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has mandated that all packaged infant food products sold in the state must display the warning 'Mother's Milk Is Best For Your Baby'. This directive applies to supplementary foods and cereals for children up to two years old. Mundhe noted that surveys revealed non-compliance with regulations, particularly the absence of breastfeeding recommendations. The order does not ban formula milk but requires manufacturers to adhere to all provisions of the Infant Food Regulation Act.
