The Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI) has proposed forming a global alliance for diabetic foot survival and limb preservation. This initiative, led by national president V.B. Narayanamurthy, aims to address diabetic foot ulceration as a significant cause of death and disability. The alliance would involve institutions like King's College London and D-Foot International. Its goal is to create a platform for prevention, research, and policy advocacy with governments and the WHO. DFSI plans to announce its intent to form the alliance at its October 2026 conference.

डायबिटिक फुट सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडिया (DFSI) ने डायबिटिक फुट सर्वाइवल और अंग संरक्षण के लिए एक वैश्विक गठबंधन बनाने का प्रस्ताव दिया है। राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष वी.बी. नारायणमूर्ति के नेतृत्व वाली इस पहल का उद्देश्य डायबिटिक फुट अल्सरेशन को मृत्यु और विकलांगता के एक महत्वपूर्ण कारण के रूप में संबोधित करना है। गठबंधन में किंग कॉलेज लंदन और डी-फुट इंटरनेशनल जैसी संस्थाएं शामिल होंगी। इसका लक्ष्य सरकारों और WHO के साथ रोकथाम, अनुसंधान और नीति वकालत के लिए एक मंच बनाना है। DFSI अपनी अक्टूबर 2026 की कॉन्फ्रेंस में गठबंधन बनाने के अपने इरादे की घोषणा करने की योजना बना रहा है।
