Indian golfer Vani Kapoor has taken the sole lead at the Hero Women's Indian Open 2026 after a brilliant second consecutive round of 69. The 32-year-old veteran now sits at 211 after three days, one shot ahead of former champions Shannon Tan and Pornanong Phatlum. This performance raises hopes for an Indian winner, as Aditi Ashok remains the only Indian to have won the title in 2016. Kapoor is aware of the challenges ahead, recalling a previous instance where a leader faltered on the final day.
