India secured its first wrestling medal at the Asian Games 2026 as Sunil Kumar clinched the bronze in the men’s Greco-Roman 87kg category. Kumar dominated the Philippines' Callum Johnston Roberts, winning the bout 9-0 by technical superiority without conceding any points. This victory marks India's opening medal in wrestling at the current Games. Kumar had previously won bronze at the Hangzhou 2023 Games, ending a long wait for India in Greco-Roman style wrestling.

एशियाई खेल 2026 में भारत को पहला कुश्ती पदक मिला है। सुनील कुमार ने पुरुषों की ग्रीको-रोमन 87 किग्रा श्रेणी में कांस्य पदक जीता है। कुमार ने फिलीपींस के कैलुम जॉनस्टन रॉबर्ट्स पर 9-0 से तकनीकी श्रेष्ठता के आधार पर जीत हासिल की, उन्होंने एक भी अंक नहीं गंवाया। इस जीत से मौजूदा खेलों में कुश्ती में भारत का पहला पदक पक्का हो गया है। कुमार ने इससे पहले हांग्जो 2023 खेलों में कांस्य पदक जीता था, जिससे ग्रीको-रोमन शैली कुश्ती में भारत का लंबा इंतजार खत्म हुआ था।
