The BJP on Saturday accused Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge of insulting constitutional institutions and the people's mandate by calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah 'illegal'. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that Kharge's remarks, allegedly at Rahul Gandhi's direction, reflect the Congress's frustration after electoral defeats. Chouhan further alleged that the Congress has a history of attacking democratic institutions and EVMs whenever it faces rejection from voters. He also defended the process of appointing Election Commissioners and the reliability of EVMs, citing Supreme Court rulings.
