A US startup has announced a world first: a patient with an antibiotic-resistant infection received treatment using viruses designed by artificial intelligence. Radical Numerics developed the experimental viruses with its AI model, Omnii-1, aiming to combat infections resistant to conventional antibiotics. While laboratory tests showed the AI-designed phages eliminated bacteria, the company has not disclosed the patient's recovery status.
