NMC Seeks Report on Harassment Allegations After PG Doctor's Suicide Attempt

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has demanded a report within 24 hours from Indore's MGM Medical College and MY Hospital regarding allegations of mental harassment against a first-year postgraduate resident. The resident, Dr. Simmi Yadav, reportedly attempted suicide due to alleged humiliation, intimidation, and excessive working hours. The NMC's action follows recent concerns over student harassment, with the commission previously noting numerous complaints leading to severe distress. The college must investigate faculty and resident involvement and preserve all relevant evidence, including digital communications and duty rosters, to verify the claims.

नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन (एनएमसी) ने इंदौर के एमजीएम मेडिकल कॉलेज और एमवाय हॉस्पिटल से एक प्रथम वर्ष के स्नातकोत्तर निवासी के खिलाफ मानसिक उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के संबंध में 24 घंटे के भीतर रिपोर्ट मांगी है। निवासी, डॉ. सिम्मी यादव, ने कथित अपमान, धमकी और अत्यधिक काम के घंटों के कारण कथित तौर पर आत्महत्या का प्रयास किया। एनएमसी की कार्रवाई हाल ही में छात्र उत्पीड़न पर चिंताओं के बाद हुई है, जिसमें आयोग ने पहले गंभीर संकट पैदा करने वाली कई शिकायतों को नोट किया था। कॉलेज को संकाय और निवासी की संलिप्तता की जांच करनी चाहिए और दावों को सत्यापित करने के लिए डिजिटल संचार और ड्यूटी रोस्टर सहित सभी प्रासंगिक साक्ष्य को संरक्षित करना चाहिए।
