Couple Finds Cockroaches In Premium Hospital Suite

A Bengaluru couple paid Rs 1.4 lakh for a premium suite at Motherhood Hospital for their child's birth but found cockroaches and houseflies on food and a breast pump. The III additional Bengaluru Urban district consumer disputes redressal commission found the hospital deficient in service. While the commission ordered the hospital to pay Rs 60,000 in compensation, it declined to refund the suite charges. The commission noted that maintaining hygienic conditions is a hospital's bounden duty.

बेंगलुरु के एक कपल ने बच्चे के जन्म के लिए Motherhood Hospital के प्रीमियम सुइट के लिए 1.4 लाख रुपये दिए थे, लेकिन उन्हें खाने और ब्रेस्ट पंप पर कॉकरोच और मक्खियां मिलीं। बेंगलुरु अर्बन जिला उपभोक्ता विवाद निवारण आयोग ने पाया कि हॉस्पिटल ने सेवा में कमी की है। आयोग ने हॉस्पिटल को 60,000 रुपये हर्जाना देने का आदेश दिया, लेकिन सुइट का शुल्क वापस करने से इनकार कर दिया। आयोग ने कहा कि साफ-सफाई बनाए रखना हॉस्पिटल का फर्ज है।
