Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu Pledges 40% Tickets to Backward Classes in Local Body Polls

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the TDP-led alliance will aim to allocate 40% of tickets to backward classes (BCs) in the upcoming local body elections. He stated the government accepted the Rajiv Ranjan Mishra Commission's recommendations for BC reservation, seeking to maximize their benefits without impacting SCs and STs. Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of reducing the BC quota and pledged to strengthen their representation.

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने घोषणा की है कि टीडीपी-गठबंधन आगामी स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों में पिछड़ा वर्ग (बीसी) के लिए 40% टिकट आवंटित करने का लक्ष्य रखेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने बीसी आरक्षण के लिए राजीव रंजन मिश्रा आयोग की सिफारिशों को स्वीकार कर लिया है, जिसका उद्देश्य एससी और एसटी को प्रभावित किए बिना उनके लाभों को अधिकतम करना है। नायडू ने पिछली वाईएसआरसीपी सरकार पर बीसी कोटा कम करने का आरोप लगाया और उनके प्रतिनिधित्व को मजबूत करने का वादा किया।
