Illinois Project Restores 421 Acres of Wetlands

An Illinois project aims to restore 421 acres of wetlands, prairie, and woodland. This $11 million effort spans 67 miles of river. The restored areas will act like a sponge, absorbing stormwater for longer periods and releasing it gradually. This initiative will also help filter pollution and create vital habitats for wildlife, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.

इलिनॉय में एक प्रोजेक्ट के तहत 421 एकड़ की ज़मीन पर वेटलैंड्स, प्रेयरी और जंगल को फिर से ठीक किया जा रहा है। यह 11 मिलियन डॉलर का काम 67 मील लंबी नदी के किनारे फैला हुआ है। ठीक की गई ज़मीनें स्पंज की तरह काम करेंगी, जो बारिश के पानी को ज़्यादा देर तक सोखेंगी और धीरे-धीरे छोड़ेंगी। इससे प्रदूषण भी छन जाएगा और वन्यजीवों के लिए ज़रूरी घर बनेंगे, जिससे इकोसिस्टम बेहतर होगा।
