Rajasthan has emerged as India's leading state in manuscript digitisation, having digitised nearly 1.25 lakh manuscripts under the Gyan Bharatam initiative. A survey campaign has identified approximately 24 lakh manuscripts, with the Union minister suggesting the actual number could be much higher if private collections are included.
