The US plans to effectively shut down all Iranian airlines globally from Wednesday, threatening foreign companies with secondary sanctions if they provide services to Iran's aviation sector. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that any entity supporting Iranian airlines would be excluded from the US dollar system. This move is part of an expanded sanctions campaign to restrict Iran's access to international financial and commercial networks, impacting its already strained aviation industry.
