Bihar Tender Scam: HC Questions ED, Vigilance Over Officials' Shielding

The Patna High Court has questioned the Enforcement Directorate and Bihar's Special Vigilance Unit regarding their handling of a multi-crore tender scam. Justice Satyavrat Verma observed that authorities appear to be shielding some senior officials while implicating a few, suggesting the arrested contractor is a pawn. The court noted that while the ED shared information on six officials, the SVU only charged three. It also questioned why the ED had not summoned other officials despite having information since February 2025.

पटना हाई कोर्ट ने करोड़ों के टेंडर घोटाले में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) और बिहार की स्पेशल विजिलेंस यूनिट (SVU) से उनके कामकाज पर सवाल उठाए हैं। जस्टिस सत्यव्रत वर्मा ने कहा कि ऐसा लगता है कि अधिकारी कुछ वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को बचा रहे हैं और कुछ को फंसा रहे हैं, जिससे गिरफ्तार ठेकेदार एक मोहरा लग रहा है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि ED ने छह अधिकारियों के बारे में जानकारी साझा की, जबकि SVU ने केवल तीन पर आरोप लगाए। कोर्ट ने यह भी पूछा कि ED ने फरवरी 2025 से जानकारी होने के बावजूद अन्य अधिकारियों को क्यों नहीं बुलाया।
