Farmer organisations under the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) umbrella have rejected the government's minimum support prices (MSPs) for Rabi crops for the 2027-28 season, announced. They specifically called the Rs 25-per-quintal increase for wheat, equivalent to just 25 paise per kg, an "insult." SKM alleged that the Centre and the Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices ignored states' recommendations and rising input costs, demanding an immediate revision of MSPs and freedom for states to offer bonuses.
