NASA Scientist's Lost Lamp Found 68 Years Later

A lamp lost by Brian O'Brien in Australia's Yarrangobilly Caves in 1953 has been found 68 years later. O'Brien, who became a NASA scientist, was separated from his companion and lost his light source during a 75-hour survival ordeal. The lamp remained undiscovered for decades until two students spotted it in 2021, approximately 60 metres underground. A caving team later recovered the relic, fulfilling O'Brien's long-held wish, though he passed away in 2020.
