Kolkata Students Bring Festive Cheer To Elderly In Old Age Homes

Around 200 students from various Kolkata institutes have organised visits to seven old age homes during Durga Puja. They are spending time with elderly residents, distributing new clothes, and offering companionship to combat loneliness. Students from the University of Calcutta, Basanti Devi College, and Goenka College are participating in this initiative. The students aim to provide a sense of belonging and shared joy, highlighting that human connection is often more valuable than material gifts for the elderly.

कोलकाता के विभिन्न संस्थानों के लगभग 200 छात्रों ने दुर्गा पूजा के दौरान सात वृद्धाश्रमों का दौरा आयोजित किया है। वे बुजुर्गों के साथ समय बिता रहे हैं, नए कपड़े बाँट रहे हैं, और अकेलेपन से लड़ने के लिए साथ दे रहे हैं। कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय, बसंती देवी कॉलेज और गोयनका कॉलेज के छात्र इस पहल में भाग ले रहे हैं। छात्रों का लक्ष्य अपनेपन और साझा खुशी की भावना प्रदान करना है, यह उजागर करते हुए कि बुजुर्गों के लिए अक्सर भौतिक उपहारों से ज़्यादा मानवीय जुड़ाव मूल्यवान होता है।
