MP John Britas Alleges Police Assault, Seeks Independent Probe

Rajya Sabha MP Dr. John Britas has written to the Chief Justice of India alleging assault by Delhi Police and CRPF personnel during a protest. He claims he was manhandled and forcibly put into a police vehicle while speaking to journalists. Britas has requested an independent judicial inquiry, supervised by the Supreme Court, into the incident. He highlighted that the alleged assault occurred hours after the Supreme Court issued directives on managing protests peacefully. The MP also cited violations of constitutional rights to freedom of speech and assembly.

जॉन ब्रिटस का पुलिस पर मारपीट का आरोप स्वतंत्र जांच की मांग

राज्यसभा सांसद डॉ. जॉन ब्रिटस ने भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश को पत्र लिखकर विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान दिल्ली पुलिस और CRPF कर्मियों द्वारा मारपीट का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने दावा किया कि पत्रकारों से बात करते समय उन्हें धक्का-मुक्की की गई और जबरन पुलिस वाहन में बिठाया गया। ब्रिटस ने इस घटना की सुप्रीम कोर्ट की निगरानी में स्वतंत्र न्यायिक जांच का अनुरोध किया है। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि कथित मारपीट सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा शांतिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शनों के प्रबंधन पर निर्देश जारी करने के कई घंटे बाद हुई। सांसद ने अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता और सभा के संवैधानिक अधिकारों के उल्लंघन का भी उल्लेख किया।
