Harvinder Singh Dhaliwal Takes Charge As PAU's 12th Vice-Chancellor

Agricultural scientist Harvinder Singh Dhaliwal assumed charge as the 12th vice-chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Thursday. Dhaliwal brings nearly 31 years of experience in agricultural research, education, and extension to the role. During his career, he served as dean of the College of Agriculture and director of extension education, introducing new academic programmes and initiatives. He has also developed 11 fruit varieties and published extensively, aiming to connect scientific research with farmers' needs and address emerging agricultural challenges.

कृषि वैज्ञानिक हरविंदर सिंह धालीवाल ने गुरुवार को पंजाब एग्रीकल्चरल यूनिवर्सिटी (PAU) के 12वें वाइस-चांसलर के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया। धालीवाल अपने साथ कृषि अनुसंधान, शिक्षा और विस्तार में लगभग 31 साल का अनुभव लेकर आए हैं। अपने करियर के दौरान, उन्होंने कॉलेज ऑफ एग्रीकल्चर के डीन और एक्सटेंशन एजुकेशन के निदेशक के रूप में कार्य किया, जहाँ उन्होंने नए शैक्षणिक कार्यक्रम और पहल शुरू कीं। उन्होंने 11 फलों की किस्में भी विकसित की हैं और बड़े पैमाने पर प्रकाशन किए हैं, जिनका उद्देश्य वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान को किसानों की जरूरतों से जोड़ना और उभरती कृषि चुनौतियों का समाधान करना है।
