Pharmacy Owner Held in Spurious Drug Racket

A Bengaluru-based pharmacy owner, Veeresh Kumar Jain, has been remanded to the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing a spurious drug racket. Jain was arrested during multi-State raids and is suspected of being a close associate of the prime accused, R. Prashanth. Investigators believe Jain and Prashanth operated the racket for nearly five years, supplying fake medicines to hospitals at discounted rates.

बेंगलुरु के एक दवा दुकान के मालिक, वीजेश कुमार जैन को स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम (SIT) की हिरासत में भेज दिया गया है। यह टीम नकली दवाओं के रैकेट की जांच कर रही है। जैन को कई राज्यों में हुई छापेमारी के दौरान पकड़ा गया था। शक है कि वह मुख्य आरोपी आर. प्रशांत का करीबी है। जांचकर्ताओं का मानना है कि जैन और प्रशांत करीब पांच साल से यह रैकेट चला रहे थे और अस्पतालों को डिस्काउंट पर नकली दवाएं बेच रहे थे।
