Delhi HC Allows Voters Deleted During SIR To Re-enter Using Form 6

Business Standard · india

The Delhi High Court has ruled that voters whose names were removed from electoral rolls due to failure to submit enumeration forms during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) can reapply using Form 6. The court dismissed the petitioners' argument that this would constitute a false declaration. The petitioners had challenged the Election Commission of India's procedure, arguing that existing voters should use Form 8 for restoration and transfer. However, the court found their apprehension misplaced, stating that Form 6 is the appropriate application for inclusion.
