Marathwada Villages Face Drought During Monsoon, Relying on Water Tankers
Times of India · india
Villagers in Maharashtra's Marathwada region are experiencing drought conditions even during the monsoon season, with many areas already dependent on water tankers for drinking water. This unprecedented situation has residents recalling severe droughts of the past, like the one in 1972. Authorities have deployed hundreds of water tankers and taken over wells to supply water to affected villages and hamlets. The lack of rainfall has left rivers and wells dry, causing significant hardship and concern about survival until the next monsoon.
