SEBI Clears Vinod Adani in MPS Violations Case

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has cleared Vinod Adani, elder brother of Gautam Adani, of allegations concerning minimum public shareholding (MPS) violations. SEBI found that foundational allegations of Vinod Adani exercising effective control over foreign portfolio investors were not established. The regulator concluded that his role was advisory and did not constitute control over investment decisions. Separately, SEBI settled alleged MPS violations involving 18 noticees, including Gautam Adani and four Adani Group companies, who agreed to pay settlement amounts without admitting guilt.
