July Rainfall Normal, Monsoon Deficit Persists

July witnessed normal rainfall across India, with precipitation measuring 215.5 mm against the usual 215 mm. However, the overall monsoon season, from June 1 to July 24, has recorded a significant deficit. Cumulative rainfall nationwide is 16.1% below the normal average. This shortfall raises concerns about water availability for agriculture and other essential uses throughout the remainder of the monsoon period.
