Patna Airport Uses Reflective Tapes To Deter Birds

Times of India · environment

Patna's Jayprakash Narayan International Airport has installed reflective tapes and ribbons to deter birds, addressing a rise in bird-hit incidents this year. Black kites are a significant concern for aircraft safety, especially during take-off and landing. The airport recorded 21 bird-hit incidents between January and August, up from nine in the same period last year. The local forest department is also surveying bird populations to aid in control measures, while authorities examine external food sources like nearby meat shops and garbage stations.
