Noida Floodplain Residents Continue Hunger Strike For Power

Residents of Noida's Hindon floodplain, known as Pushta, are intensifying their 15-day protest, with women on a week-long hunger strike demanding formal electricity connections. Bharatiya Kisan Parishad president Sukhbir Khalifa stated that 4 to 5 lakh families have lived without electricity for over a decade. Protesters question the flood zone classification, citing other cities with connections, and highlight dangers from informal power supply, including electrocution deaths.

नोएडा के हिंडन बाढ़ क्षेत्र (पुश्ता) के लोग अपना 15 दिन का विरोध तेज कर रहे हैं। महिलाएं एक हफ्ते से भूख हड़ताल पर हैं और बिजली कनेक्शन की मांग कर रही हैं। भारतीय किसान परिषद के अध्यक्ष सुखबीर खलीफा ने बताया कि 4 से 5 लाख परिवार एक दशक से भी ज़्यादा समय से बिना बिजली के रह रहे हैं। प्रदर्शनकारी बाढ़ क्षेत्र के वर्गीकरण पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं और अनौपचारिक बिजली आपूर्ति से होने वाली मौतों का ज़िक्र कर रहे हैं।
