Bengal Schools To Include Syama Prasad Mukherjee; Singur Chapter Removed

West Bengal schools will now include lessons on Syama Prasad Mukherjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, in their textbooks. The state education minister announced that a new curriculum has been developed, emphasizing state history and prominent figures. The chapter on the Singur land acquisition movement, previously in the Class 8 syllabus, has been removed. Additionally, the committee recommended removing the 'Kanyashree Prakalpa' chapter from Class 6 books. ICT will be introduced as a formal subject for students from Class 5 to 8.

पश्चिम बंगाल के स्कूलों की किताबों में अब भारतीय जनसंघ के संस्थापक श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी के बारे में पढ़ाया जाएगा। राज्य के शिक्षा मंत्री ने बताया कि एक नया सिलेबस तैयार किया गया है, जिसमें राज्य के इतिहास और खास लोगों पर जोर दिया गया है। क्लास 8 के सिलेबस से सिंगूर भूमि अधिग्रहण आंदोलन का चैप्टर हटा दिया गया है। इसके अलावा, समिति ने क्लास 6 की किताबों से 'कन्याश्री प्रकल्प' का चैप्टर हटाने की भी सिफारिश की है। क्लास 5 से 8 तक के छात्रों के लिए ICT को एक फॉर्मल सब्जेक्ट के तौर पर शुरू किया जाएगा।
